Mrs. Lawing provides psychosocial support to pediatric patients and families. In her role, she provides procedural preparation and support to pediatric patients undergoing treatment. She creates opportunities for both therapeutic and normalizing play within the medical environment. Her support extends to siblings and caregivers and often involves being an advocate and providing emotional support during their time here.

Mrs. Lawing holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Child Life from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute, she worked at Wolfson Children’s Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the Outpatient Surgery Center and Emergency Department.  She is a member of the Association of Child Life Professionals and is a Certified Child Life Specialist.
