UF Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for a Research Associate responsible for clerical assistance in the support, coordination, and administration of research protocols and projects. This includes:

  • Answering phones, taking messages, and directing calls
  • Managing research correspondence (emails, letters, etc.)
  • Assisting with data entry, organization, and maintenance of research records
  • Scheduling research meetings, preparing materials, and managing calendar
  • Maintaining lab supplies and equipment

Guided by a research coordinator, this individual will also help patients understand and agree to participate in research protocols and assist patients with electronic form completion.

Qualified candidate must have a college degree and prior experience working in an office environment. Experience using medical terminology also required. Prior exposure in the oncology field, research or in an academic environment preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Access preferred. Knowledge of basic HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality guidelines preferred.

Individual should be skilled in organizing resources, establishing priorites, and have strong writing skills with a good command of grammar and punctuation. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of staff and study participants. Must be able to maintain confidences related to sensitive information, ability to multi-task and to work independently. Must be self-motivated and have a strong attention to detail. Must have a positive attitude and proactively work as a team player. Professional appearance and behavior.  

This position will report directly to the Director of Research and may also report to the Biostatistician on specific data entry/based projects.
