Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

As we head into September, we’d like to recognize that the month is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. This is an excellent time to help people learn about prostate cancer and support those who are affected. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men and disproportionally affects men of color.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and this time is recognized to bring awareness to pediatric cancers and honor the children and their families facing it or who have survived it. It is a great time to review research and reflect on how it affects people in our communities.

Lymphoma Awareness Month

September is Lymphoma Awareness Month. Lymphomas begin in cells of the lymph system, which is a part of the immune system. Lymph tissue is found throughout the body; therefore, lymphoma can begin almost anywhere. There are two basic categories of lymphomas: Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL).

The Lymphoma Research Foundation supports the Light It Red campaign. Light it Red for Lymphoma makes lymphoma visible by lighting buildings and landmarks across the world in red. You can bring this effort to your neighborhood by illuminating your home with red lights!
