High School Students Visit the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute

In February, Hardev Grewal, Ph.D. coordinated the second annual high school student visit and tour of the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. The program focuses on bridging the gap between young minds and the unseen, vital roles within radiation oncology.

“It’s more than just a trip; it’s a chance to spark interest in the medical field, showing there’s so much more to it than the traditional roles they might know,” said Dr. Grewal. “This tour is an attempt to inspire and guide the next generation of healthcare professionals, ensuring they see the importance of every role in making a difference in patients’ lives,” he continued.

More than 60 students and family members attended the event. Students were from First Coast High School, Beachside High School and from the AnnieRuth Foundation.
