To those recently diagnosed with cancer,

I was referred to the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville, Fla., by an old friend of mine after he heard that I had been diagnosed with cancer. I was unfamiliar with proton beam radiation therapy before my friend recommended the Institute, but I trusted my friend, so I applied for admission into the treatment program here, and I am so glad I did. The Institute was one of the first proton therapy centers in the United States and the first proton therapy center of excellence established in the Southeast.

The facility is state-of-the-art, with five proton radiation gantries treating 100 patients a day, but what really separates this center from the competition is its staff. Every member of the staff here, whether clinical or administrative, treats every patient as if they were a member of their family. The UF Health Proton Therapy Institute only hires the best of the best radiation therapists, physicians, nurses, physicists, engineers and administrators - and each and every one of them makes every patient feel welcomed and cared for. The care is top-notch, as you would expect from a center of excellence. For anyone dealing with cancer and considering radiation therapy, I highly recommend considering the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute.

Regards,
