Dr. Zhang Featured on Reputable Magazine Cover
The August edition of The International Journal of Medical Physics Research and Practice selected an image from the recently published work of the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute medical physicist, Yawei Zhang, PhD. His review of the use of 4D-cone-beam CT imaging to ensure the accuracy of patient positioning for radiation treatments highlights how to manage body position changes due to respiratory motions during radiation treatments. The UF Health Proton Therapy Institute Attends Prestigious Medical Conferences
Several physicians and staff from the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute attended the 66th ASTRO Annual Meeting in Washington D.C. at the end of September. The program offers the top science and education related to the field of radiation oncology. The meeting’s theme, “Targeting Provider Wellness for Exceptional Patient Care,” emphasized the importance of provider wellness and the role that plays in patient care. In November, additional physicians and staff attended the Particle Therapy Cooperative Group - North America (PTCOG-NA) 10th Annual Meeting in New York. PTCOG is an international non-profit organization comprised of physicians, physicists, biologists, engineers and dosimetrists interested in the therapeutic use of particle therapy. The event included a research forum hosted by the National Association for Proton Therapy (NAPT).
