Executive Director’s Message – June 2024

Kristin A. Heath, DBA, MBA, MHA

As Brain Cancer and Brain Tumor Awareness Month draws to a close, we reflect on the stories of resilience and hope shared by two of our patients in this newsletter. As we step into June, National Cancer Survivors Month, we are reminded of the profound privilege it is to accompany thousands of individuals on their path to survivorship.

At the Institute, our commitment to comprehensive care extends beyond treatment completion. We recognize that survivorship encompasses not just physical healing, but also emotional and psychological well-being. We have a compassionate team of nurse practitioners who provide ongoing support and guidance to our patients during their survivorship period. From personalized clinical care to education, surveillance and seamless coordination of follow-up care with other specialists, our team is steadfast in our commitment to enhancing the health and quality of life of our survivors in the long term.
