International Day of Physics
On Nov. 7, the Institute and healthcare facilities around the world honor the International Day of Medical Physics. The medical physicists at the UF Health Proton Therapy lead the charge to move cancer care forward day to day. From dose‑calibration to quality‑control, our team of dedicated medical physicists ensures every proton beam is safe, precise and tailored to each patient’s needs.
We’re also thrilled to share that one of our own Medical Physics Graduate Program PhD Candidates, Keaton Reiners, MS, spoke in November at the PTCOG-NA conference in Shreveport, LA. He will be presenting on: RBE-guided treatment planning, LET optimization and implications of dynamic arc delivery for nervous tissue sparing in head and neck IMPT. His work pushes the boundaries of how we design treatments that maximize tumor control while protecting delicate structures — an essential step toward more effective, personalized proton therapy.
