UF Health Proton Therapy Institute is now treating gynecologic cancers

The UF Health Proton Therapy Institute is now treating patients with gynecologic cancers, including vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, vulvar cancer and uterine/endometrial cancer. Dr. Lucas Gomes Sapienza joined the Institute in 2024 and specializes in treating gynecological cancers.

Gynecologic cancers are treated at the Institute with a wide range of cancer treatment options, from proton therapy to IMRT, VMAT and brachytherapy. We are the only academic oncology facility between Orlando and Atlanta to offer this wide range of radiation technologies for treatment of gynecologic cancer.
