Dr. Julie Bradley is a Professor with tenure in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida. With an intense focus on breast cancer and pediatric tumors in both the clinical and research realms, she possesses a deep knowledge of these cancer types and provides comprehensive, personalized care for people affected by these diagnoses. 

Dr. Bradley has been an invited speaker for 150 local, national and international presentations, and published 7 book chapters and over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles. Her presentations and publications include technical guidelines for proton therapy and clinical outcomes in radiotherapy, with a focus on proton therapy. She is an innovator, holding a provisional patent for a redesigned tissue expander for breast reconstructions to increase compatibility with radiotherapy and MRI. She serves as the breast cancer program director at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute.

She has served on the editorial boards for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics Breast Cancer section and The Breast Journal. Dr. Bradley participates in national and international cooperative groups, including the International Soft Tissue Sarcoma Consortium (INSTRUCT) and Children’s Oncology Group for pediatrics, as well as the NRG Breast Cancer Subcommittees and NCI Breast Oncology Local Disease Task Force. 

She currently serves as the Division Chief of Research for the UF Department of Radiation Oncology and serves on the Quality and Safety Committee at UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. Dr. Bradley has been recognized with the 2020 Radiation Oncology Transformative Medicine Award and the 2019 James E. Lockwood Professorship. She teaches the Putting Families First course with the UF College of Medicine and continues to educate resident physicians through her role as an oral and written board examiner for the American Board of Radiology’s breast cancer section, as well as an exam writer for the pediatric section of the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Bradley is currently conducting research through nine grants focused on breast cancer radiotherapy, breast cancer awareness and support, and healthy equity. Dr. Bradley’s past research included funded research with the Bankhead Coley Foundation and the Ocala Royal Dames, to identify early markers of radiation-induced toxicity for breast cancer patients.
