Sun-Ray Cinema
The most historic movie theatre in Jacksonville, the Sun-Ray Cinema was built in 1927 as a showcase for the latest “talkies.” The one-screen theatre offers an assortment of beers on tap and fresh pizza. You could spend a half day in Five Points by window shopping, getting a bite to eat (if you don’t eat inside the theatre), and strolling through the nearby parks. It’s a lovely area and close to University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute.
AMC Regency Square 24
This large theater will have all the new blockbusters, plus a few smaller independent movies for your enjoyment. It shares its parking lot with Regency Square Mall, so go shopping before or after the show.
Cinemark Tinseltown USA
Located near many, many restaurants, this theater would be a great after-dinner activity. It’s mid-sized and will have most of the new movies you want to see.
AMC Orange Park 24
Connected to the Orange Park Mall, this large movie theater shows all the blockbusters you care to see, along with an independent film once in a while. There is shopping galore inside the mall and many restaurants outside along Wells Rd.
World Golf Village IMAX Theater
This theater isn’t in town, but a short drive away in St. Augustine. IMAX screens are HUGE and surround you with visually stunning scenes and crisp audio displaying an assortment of award-winning nature documentaries highlighting the Grand Canyon, Arctic and deep sea as well as new releases.
Alhambra Dinner Theatre
Professional Broadway style live theatre and fine dining experience and one of the few remaining dinner theaters in America. Built in 1967, the Alhambra Theatre is nationally known, where actors come from all around the country to audition. Many of the past and present performers have worked on Broadway and have done national and international tours.
All Beaches Experimental Theatre
Emphasizing local talent and material, All Beaches Experimental Theatre (ABET) produces a variety of new and original plays, as well as neglected classics.
Florida Theatre
A beautifully restored building, the Florida Theatre showcases performances including ballet, opera, contemporary pop, jazz, rock, county and blues.

Showcasing faith-based rock, rap and pop musicians, this edgy concert venue is a place for local youth and young adults to enjoy live entertainment.
Players by the Sea
Founded in 1966, this community theatre showcases a wide range of drama, comedy, and musical productions. Main stage shows are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Theatreworks
Established in 1979, Theatreworks is an educational theatre that showcases national and international touring groups for school-aged children. The shows are culturally relevant and artistically appealing to the young audience it serves, while still capturing the attention of adults. Examples of shows include King Tut & ancient history, fun ways to use science, the importance of voting, Dr. Seuss and animal adventures.
Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts
This center houses three distinct theatres built to host a variety of artists and attractions. The Jacoby Symphony Hall houses the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and other visiting performers. The Terry Theatre and Jim & Jan Moran Theatre showcase on-and off-Broadway plays and musicals.
